Improvised Studio Photography
I recently photographed the eighteenth birthday party of my daughter and two of her good friends. I think dads in general were not cool, and it was made clear that this one, certainly wasn't.
I was plonked in a corner of the venue with instructions to stay where I was and capture images of friends and family. The venue, Eskmills in Musselburgh, had a light curtain that made for a great backdrop. My lighting consisted of an umbrella, a softbox and a few speedlights. This was all highly portable and very quick to setup. I have included some of my favourite images below. See what you think.
